We had steady, bootstrapped growth from inception in 2015 until the acquisition by CatalystOne in early 2024. In 2023, Populum was named a Gasell by Dagens industri, judged on criteria including positive operating profit over time, strong organic growth, and overall healthy operations. Less than 1 percent of Sweden’s companies qualify.
History
Populum was established in 2015 by Johannes Midtbö to enable HR departments to be more data-driven and reinvent how organizations drive employee engagement. Co-founders Marcus Edlund and Daniel Almquist joined early after.
With a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) test period, the first large customer joined in 2017 and still uses Populum today. Today, we are proud to serve over 100 customers, increasing employee engagement, creating a positive employee experience, and enabling them to improve their well-being and performance.
